King Alfred's Cakes are a new instrumental folk trio, comprising cello, flute and acoustic guitar. Playing a selection of traditional and self-penned folk tunes, the trio (Karen Donnellly on flute, Carol Lodge on cello and Clive Batkin on guitar) are currently making a name for themselves in the folk club and festival circuit. With a unique and dynamic sound, this emerging band is set for great things in 2011 - they hope this website gives you a taste of their unique and mesmerising music.
